Vehicle fire snuffed out in Hope

HOPE — It has been a busy start to the year for the District of Hope Fire Department.

The latest blaze was a car fire early Saturday morning. Fire crews were called out at 4:40 a.m. to deal with the vehicle fire on Elder Road.

According to a social media post from the fire department, the vehicle was engulfed in flames when crews arrived on the scene.

Six firefighters, an engine and a water tender worked quickly to contain the flames and prevent the fire from speaking to a nearby house and some vegetation.

Although the fire is not thought to be suspicious, the cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.
