HOPE — Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the eastern region of the Fraser Valley including Hope.

The national weather agency is expecting up to 5 centimetres of snow to fall Friday afternoon through Friday evening.

It says easterly winds will keep surface temperatures at or below freezing today, allowing the incoming precipitation to fall as snow or wet snow. That in turn could produce slippery conditions on roads and highways through the area.

The snowfall warning does not extend west into Chilliwack.
