CHILLIWACK — Mounties in Chilliwack are appealing to the public for help after a break and enter at a home in the Chilliwack River Valley involved possibly up to 25 guns.

According to a news release from B.C. RCMP media relations, Chilliwack RCMP says a break and enter occurred in the 4000 block of Lyardon Road, just north of Chilliwack Lake Road, sometime between Christmas, Dec. 25 and Friday, Dec. 27.

Police were called to Lyardon Road and discovered the home had been ransacked and several items stolen. Investigators say they are concerned that up to 25 firearms were stolen, including primarily long guns. Investigative efforts are continuing to identify the make and model of the firearms.

A significant amount of Vietnamese dong (VDN) currency was also stolen, police say. Police say they are appealing to anyone involved in currency exchanges to be on the lookout for individuals attempting to exchange large amounts of VDN for other currencies.
