Lougheed Highway crash in Mission sends one to hospital
UPDATE — RCMP report the Lougheed Highway through Mission was reopened to traffic in both directions at approximately 6 p.m. Thursday evening. There is no update on the condition of the woman who suffered serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to hospital.
MISSION — The Lougheed Highway is closed in both directions in Mission following a serious collision late Thursday (Dec. 26) morning.
Early results of the investigation indicate the crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. when a vehicle hydroplaned, striking an oncoming car. A female occupant was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service is investigating the crash, which has prompted a complete closure of Lougheed Highway between Nelson Street and Oliver Street.
