Mounties name 2023 Langley homicide victim in hopes of advancing investigation

LANGLEY — The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the victim of a September 2023 homicide in Langley as 36-year-old Michael Kashani.
On September 22, 2023 Langley City Fire Rescue responded to a Bush fire at Nicomekl Park at 5281 208th Street. Upon arrival, first responders discovered human remains. The death was deemed suspicious and IHIT took over the investigation.
Since then, investigators have worked to uncover the circumstances surrounding Kashani’s death. In an effort to advance the case, IHIT has released his identity to the public.
“Mr. Kashani was 36 years old at the time and his death has left a void in his family and community,” said RCMP Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. “We believe someone out there may have information about Mr. Kashani’s death and we are interested in speaking with them.”
