CHILLIWACK — G.W. Graham senior Carson Raine won’t have to look south of the border or head east across Canada to continue his football career.

G.W. Graham’s football program announced Monday on social media that Raine, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back, has committed to play for the Valley Huskers next year.

“Big welcome to Carson, the newest member of the Valley Huskers family,” the Huskers wrote online. “Proud to have a AAA Eastern-Conference all-star join our team. Excited to see the amazing things you’ll bring to the field. Let’s go, Huskers!”

The Grizzlies football program touted Raine, an Eastern Conference All-Star, for his two-way skills and consistency on both sides of the ball.

“Carson is a smart, tough, reliable football player. Known for coming down hill in the run game, delivering punishing hits and rarely getting beat through the air. His football IQ is off the charts which has allowed him to be a key leader on our defense all year. This is why Carson is well deserving of an All-star selection at DB.”

Raine’s Hudl profile says he sports a vertical of 29.9 inches, a 4.91-second 40, a bench press of 185 pounds and deadlift 315 pounds.
