Chipotle opening in Chilliwack next week, looking to hire staff

CHILLIWACK — The wait is over for Chilliwack fans of Chipotle, the California-based franchise offering burritos, tacos, salads and other Mexican cuisine.

The international food chain with over 3,600 restaurants across North America and Europe has confirmed to Fraser Valley Today it will open next week at 7670 Vedder Road in Chilliwack, the site of the former Tim Hortons.

Its first day of operation is Monday, December 23 starting at 10:45 a.m. Its operating hours are 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.

The first 30 people in line will receive complimentary Chipotle Goods merchandise. Chilliwack guests can try Chipotle’s tender, Mexican-inspired smoked brisket, available for a limited time.

Chipotle spokesperson Annie Gradinger says the restaurant is hiring at the Chilliwack location and other locations across Canada. On average, about 30 people work at each Chipotle location. The company says it offers competitive benefits to employees, including:

As first reported by Fraser Valley Today back in August 2024, Chipotle had been advertising open job positions on Indeed.ca seeking staff for positions like apprentice general manager ($54,000 to $57,000 annually), service leader ($19.50-$21.50 an hour) and kitchen leader ($18.25-$19.95 an hour).

Chipotle differentiates itself from other quick-serve restaurants by serving burritos, bowls, tacos, quesadillas and salads with authentic ingredients and no artificial colours, flavors or preservatives.
