Telus Cup celebrated Sunday at Chilliwack Coliseum
CHILLIWACK — The Fraser Valley Thunderbirds celebrate their role as the host team for the 2025 Telus Cup Championship with an official ceremony on Sunday (Dec. 15) at noon at the Chilliwack Coliseum.
The event will feature remarks from Chilliwack Mayor Ken Popove and Chief David Jimmy, kicking off festivities for the under-18 national hockey tournament.
Fans attending the ceremony can enjoy a full day of activities, including a holiday-themed community celebration with face painting, relay races, and a Best Sign contest. Admission is free, with donations of non-perishable food items encouraged to support the local food bank. Door prizes and additional giveaways will also be up for grabs.
On the ice, the Thunderbirds’ U18 team will faceoff in a game against the Cariboo Cougars at 12:45 p.m. The U17 AAA team will play at 3 p.m., followed by the U15 team at 5:45 p.m. Players from all teams will be available for autographs.
