Snowfall warning issued for Coquihalla Highway

HOPE — A Snowfall Warning has been issued for the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt. Environment Canada is predicting up to 20 cm of snow to fall Saturday evening through Sunday morning.
The snow is expected to occur in combination with strong winds. The combination could lead to visibility being reduced suddenly for any motorists on the highway.
Environment Canada says a frontal system will be passing over the region. The snowfall is expected to intensify through the evening before it begins to taper off Sunday morning.
It is warning drivers to be prepared for hazardous driving conditions.
