Pedestrian struck and injured in Abbotsford

CHILLIWACK — A 20-year-old pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Townline Road and Upper Maclure Road in Abbotsford late Friday (Dec. 13) morning.

Abbotsford Police Department patrol officers responded to the scene at 11:11 a.m. Emergency services located a single vehicle involved in the incident. The injured pedestrian was transported to the hospital by air ambulance.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured, remained at the scene, and is cooperating with authorities, police said.

AbbyPD officers, with support from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service, are conducting an investigation.

Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance. They are asking for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage who was traveling along Townline Road around the time of the incident to come forward.
