Flair Airlines to expand service at Abbotsford Airport

ABBOTSFORD — Flair Airlines, which bills itself as Canada’s most reliable airline, says it will expand service between Abbotsford International Airport and two key cities in Alberta starting next spring.

According to a news release from the company, Flair will enhance frequencies between Abbotsford and Edmonton, and Calgary to Abbotsford, starting in April 2025, as frequencies in these key markets increase significantly.

For example, there will be 25 weekly flights between Edmonton and Abbotsford in 2025, an increase of 56 per cent versus route frequencies this year, and 21 weekly flights between Calgary and Abbotsford in 2025, an increase of 50 per cent over this year.

“The inter-connectivity between Alberta and British Columbia is only getting stronger and more economically essential,” said Eric Tanner, VP of Network Planning and Revenue Management at Flair Airlines. “Flair is empowering passengers to do day trips between Alberta and British Columbia with affordable, convenient flight options in the morning and evening.”

Summer 2025 will see up to 340 additional monthly flights across these routes compared to last year, representing a year-over-year increase of 50 per cent or more for each one. The company attributes the increased frequencies to the strong cooperation between Flair and the four airport authorities (Vancouver, Abbotsford, Calgary and Edmonton). More daily flights between Alberta and B.C. enhances convenience and connectivity for passengers, Flair said.

Flair Airlines claims it achieved Canada’s highest flight completion percentage at 99.1 per cent in November 2024, outpacing Air Canada and Westjet.
