ABBOTSFORD – Canada’s weather agency warns that heavy rain on Friday night between Vancouver and the Fraser Valley could lead to localized flooding and pooling on roads.

Environment Canada’s warning suggests between 50 and 70 mm is likely over a 12 hour period, which could result in “localized flooding” in low-lying areas around Abbotsford and Mission.

“A robust and rain laden frontal system will slide down the BC Coast,” meteorologists said in a statement.

“Rain, at times heavy, will begin late this afternoon for Howe Sound and the Sea to Sky, and this evening for the remainder of the regions.”
