ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department says it pulled over a 45-year-old man Wednesday morning (Dec. 4) after the driver struggled to maintain its lane, only to find out the class 1 driver was on his way to work to drive a semi truck.

Police say one of their patrol officers observed a vehicle that could not stay within its lane at approximately 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. Police initiated a traffic stop to measure driver sobriety and discovered the man was allegedly impaired by alcohol. Shockingly, police say he was on his way to drive a semi truck.

The man received a 90-day driving suspension, and his passenger vehicle was impounded for 30 days. The vehicle he drove appeared to be a Mercedes SUV or station wagon.

Even worse, police say the man asked for leniency.
