Chilliwack Chiefs beat Alberni Valley, end November on top of Coastal Conference

ALBERNI VALLEY – The Chilliwack Chiefs concluded November on a high note, defeating the Alberni Valley Bulldogs 8-6 on Saturday.

Winger Brendyn Van Oene led the way with a hat trick.

The victory puts the Chiefs’ atop the BCHL’s Coastal Conference thanks to a 7 and 2 record during November.

They hold a one-point advantage over the Bulldogs.

The Chiefs opened November 4 and 0 with impressive back-to-back winning weekends against Powell River, Nanaimo, and a pair against Surrey.

They currently boast a record of 16-2-2 so far in 2024, accumulating 34 points in 23 games.

Chilliwack’s potent offense has been a factor in their success, with a league-leading 101 goals scored.

Only the Sherwood Park Crusaders, with 106 goals in 24 games, have scored more goals in the BCHL.

The Chiefs return home next weekend to face the Langley Rivermen and Coquitlam Express at the Chilliwack Coliseum.
