Abbotsford Police city basketball tourney to feature 70 high school teams

ABBOTSFORD – High school athletes from 70 teams across Abbotsford are just days away from coming together for the Abby Police City Basketball Tournament.

The event begins Dec.10 and runs for four days with the final Dec. 14 at Columbia Bible College on Clearbrook Road.

Invitees include players from public and private schools from grades eight through nine as well as junior and senior teams across the Abbotsford School District.

In all eight venues are hosting eight different divisions. They include:

  • Senior boys at W.J. Mouat Secondary (32355 Mouat Drive)
  • Senior girls at Yale Secondary (34620 Old Yale Road)
  • Junior boys at St. John Brebeuf Regional Secondary (2747 Townline Road)
  • Junior girls at Rick Hansen Secondary (31150 Blueridge Drive)
  • Grade 9 boys at Abbotsford Senior Secondary (33355 Bevan Avenue)
  • Grade 9 girls at M.E.I Elementary School (Downes and Clearbrook Roads)
  • Grade 8 boys at Abbotsford Senior Secondary (33355 Bevan Avenue)
  • Grade 8 girls at Abbotsford Christian School (Old Clayburn Road and Mt. Blanchard Drive)

Player incentives include scholarships of $500 funded by multiple sponsors along with the Abbotsford Police.
