CHILLIWACK – Agassiz, Hope, Boston Bar, and Chilliwack are destinations across the Fraser Valley and area hosting the RCMP’s annual Stuff the Cruiser food drive over the next three weeks.

The campaign is in its 15th year, and six locations in Chilliwack will be taking non-perishable food items and cash donations on Saturday, November 30.

“This initiative has grown to become one of the largest contributors to local food banks, bringing communities together to help those in need during the festive season,” the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment said in an email.

“The event’s success is made possible by the support of local businesses and residents.”

RCMP officers will be joined by some of Chilliwack’s first responders between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday at these locations:

  • Safeway Sardis, 45610 Luckakuck Way
  • Save-On-Foods, 45585 Luckakuck Way
  • Save-On-Foods, 6014 Vedder Road
  • Save-On-Foods, 46020 Yale Road
  • Save-On-Foods, 45635 Tamihi Way
  • Real Canadian Superstore, 45779 Luckakuck Way

Drop-offs will also happen on December 7, 14, and 21.

Stuff the Cruiser expands to four more locations next weekend, appearing in Hope at a Kal Tire pancake breakfast between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on December 7.

Save-On-Foods and Buy Low will also host a vehicle the same day between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., while the ambulance station in Boston Bar will host from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents in Agassiz will get their chance to contribute on December 14 at the Super Valu on Cheam Avenue between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

All food and cash donations will stay in the communities they’re collected from and distributed to families in need.
