DELTA – Delta Police are investigating a Friday morning incident involving a vehicle that went “off-road” near the Fraser River as a potential “criminal matter.”

Investigators say officers were called out to an area near River and Webster roads just after 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 29.

“The vehicle was off road, and stuck in the foreshore of the river and not in the water,” Insp. James Sandberg explained.

“Prior to police arrival, Delta Fire Department firefighters and good Samaritans came to the aid of the female driver and two young children.”

Sandberg said the children were taken to hospital for observation and appeared to be unharmed.

The driver was also taken to hospital for medical attention.

Detectives say the area was busy with commuters at the time of the incident and are seeking witnesses or dash cam video.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Delta Police at (604)946-4411.
