MISSION – RCMP say they are still seeking information from the public to solve a mid-November break-in in Mission, during which over a dozen firearms were stolen.

Investigators say some of the Nov. 14 theft was captured on overnight CCTV footage, which shows a group of people breaking into a Sylvester Road property in the Hatzic area just before 2 a.m.

“They forced entry to multiple locations on the property and stole a large firearm safe, over a dozen firearms – both rifles and handguns – and a quantity of jewelry,” an RCMP spokesperson revealed in an email.

“The offenders were well-prepared for the break and enter and wore balaclavas and gloves.”

Detectives say a white 2018 Honda Odyssey minivan was used in the theft and later seized from a property near Mission that same day.

“Search warrants were granted for both the van and a property in the Silverdale area, although none of the stolen property has yet been recovered,” Mission RCMP explained.

Police are seeking information on sightings of the Odyssey, which may have traveled through Mission, Silverdale, and east Maple Ridge between Nov. 9 and 14.

They are also asking residents to be on the lookout for a discarded gun safe approximately five feet in size.

Anyone with information should call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
