Police report injuries in two-vehicle crash between Chilliwack and Abbotsford

CHILLIWACK – RCMP report that people were injured following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 1 near the Yale Road exit west of Chilliwack.

BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) investigators say a small car and a full-size van collided, causing the van to roll and catch fire.

“Our officers are working hard to determine the cause of the incident, and we can confirm that there were injuries,” BCHP Cpl. Michael McLaughlin said.

A BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) spokesperson says a pair of ambulances were dispatched to the scene to treat reported injuries.

“Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in stable condition,” said BCEHS public information officer Rachelle Bown.

DriveBC reported all lanes had fully reopened in both directions at Yale Road just before 11 a.m.

BCHP is seeking dashcam footage or anyone who witnessed the crash and urging individuals to reach out at 604-702-4039.
