CHILLIWACK – A competition that empowers local aspiring entrepreneurs is now down to just seven finalists set to pitch business ideas to a panel of judges.

Community Futures South Fraser says 15 participants had come on board initially for its Start-Up Challenge.

That number has now shrunk in half and what remains will face local judges at a Live Pitch Event for a grand prize package, including $5000 to use for their business.

“The Startup Challenge has been an incredible journey for these entrepreneurs,” said Nicole Read, General Manager of Community Futures South Fraser.

“This event not only highlights their hard work and creativity but also underscores our commitment to nurturing local talent and driving economic growth in Chilliwack and Abbotsford.”

This event marks the end of an intensive program in which participants sought to foster innovation and entrepreneurship through workshops and mentorship sessions.

The finale will go Thursday (Nov. 28) at 6:30 p.m. at Cowork Chilliwack in Harvard Place.

The event is open to the public. For ticket information visit www. southfraser.com/pitch-event
