DUIs, 300+ files keep Abbotsford PD busy all weekend
ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department says it fielded over 300 operational files over the weekend, including nearly a dozen DUIs and a stolen vehicle incident in which the driver who was arrested had a loaded handgun and drugs.
AbbyPD says it received 335 operational files since 5 p.m. Friday evening, some of which involved weapons, assaults, break-and-enters, stolen vehicles, missing persons, and a stolen vehicle incident.
“This past weekend, our AbbyPD Patrol Officers were kept busy with various public safety issues,” the department said online. “Shout out goes to Patrol Shift 3 for locating a stolen vehicle. The driver was arrested and in possession of a loaded handgun and drugs.”
Frontline officers removed 11 impaired drivers from Abbotsford-area roadways since Friday evening. Each driver had their license suspended. Two of them involved crashes, but neither of them resulted in serious injury.
