CHILLIWACK – The legendary express train, local merchants, fresh-cut Christmas trees, and live musicians will be featured as part of the return of Christmas at Greendale Acres next week.

The Yale Road West farm reopens on Nov. 22 for a holiday run expected to last through Dec. 23, with event days running Wednesday through Sunday.

Weekday train and admission tickets for one are priced at around $22, with children aged two and under admitted free. Seniors over 75 only need to purchase train tickets, which cost approximately $7 each.

Weekend visits are around $23.50 with train rides roughly going for $9 per person.

Tickets are available for advance purchase at shop.greendaleacres.ca.

The outing includes about a half a dozen destinations. Here’s a list of some activities:

Greendale Acres Farm Light Experience

Visitors are encouraged to hop on the Greendale Express Train and enjoy a ride through a dazzling display of lights and festive decorations. Walking is also an option for those who prefer to experience the sights at a slower pace.

Santa’s Workshop and The Greendale Post Office

Little ones can become one of Santa’s helpers in the workshop while writing their wish lists to send to the North Pole via the Greendale Post Office.

Christmas Scavenger Hunt

Families can participate in the scavenger hunt, searching for hidden Christmas treasures scattered across the farm.

Holiday Wishing Tree

Families and guests can write wishes on cards, which are regularly collected and displayed on the Holiday Wishing Tree throughout the season.

Christmas Market

Stocking stuffers, locally made artisan products, festive gifts, and ornaments are just some of the items available for purchase at the market. Freshly cut Christmas trees to take home and decorate are also on offer.

Fireside Holiday Pavilion

Under the pavilion’s cover, friends and families can gather around glowing fire pits to sip on hot drinks and enjoy Christmas treats while listening to music from local artists such as The Peterson Duo, Mark Hildebrand, Ryan McAllister, Greg Neufeld, and others.
