Highway 7 near Hope closed after rockslide: DriveBC
HOPE – Both lanes of Highway 7 near Hope were closed overnight after a rockslide on Thursday, according to DriveBC.
The ministry says that “large rocks” tumbled onto the road between Haig Scale and Seventh-day Adventist Youth Camp Road.
In a social media post on Friday morning, work crews reported that a geotechnical assessment and cleanup were taking place.
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says the geotechnical assessment analyzes the slope of nearby hills to ensure clean-up crews can clear the highway safely.
