Highway 1 traffic through Abbotsford clear after single-vehicle crash Thursday morning

ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford PD says traffic is flowing once again between Chilliwack and Abbotsford Thursday morning after a vehicle crashed westbound Highway 1 at the No. 3 Road exit (exit 104).

Police say the driver of the vehicle is not inquired, and the car will remain in the meridian until morning commuter traffic has cleared.

Highway 1 is open in both directions, police said.

DriveBC initially notified commuters at 5:27 a.m. Thursday that a vehicle incident had the left lane westbound blocked, but advised just 21 minutes later at 5:48 a.m. that the westbound lane was no longer blocking any lanes. It did say the single vehicle would present a visual distraction to motorists.

The crashed vehicle has yellow tape strung across it and appears heavily damaged.
