Veterans Memorial, All Sappers host Remembrance Day ceremonies in Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK – Chilliwack will host two city-sanctioned Remembrance Day ceremonies on Monday, November 11th, at Veterans Memorial Park and All Sappers Memorial Park.

Both events will include a procession and ceremony, beginning at 10:30 a.m. and concluding around noon.

The Veterans Memorial ceremony downtown begins at 10 a.m. with a procession forming at Evergreen Hall. The procession will then make its way to the park on Spadina Avenue, arriving around 11 a.m.

Meanwhile, the Sardis ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. with a procession forming at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #295 (Vedder Road). The procession will then make its way to All Sappers Memorial Park, where a ceremony will immediately follow.

Road closures will be in effect downtown, with partial closures on Spadina Avenue, Main Street, Yale Road, and First Avenue during the late morning.

The Sardis ceremony will require partial road closures on Keith Wilson Road and Vedder Road. Detours will be in place, utilizing Watson Road, Tyson Road, Keith Wilson Road, Dieppe Street, and Petawawa Road.
