Holly Jolly Chilliwack: Markets, lights plus Santa throughout November & December

CHILLIWACK – With decorations already adorning public spaces across the Fraser Valley to mark the holiday season, the Holly Jolly Chilliwack celebration will feature no less than a dozen attractions ahead of Dec. 25 across the city.

Holiday shopping, Christmas music and culinary treats are just some features friends and family can experience in November and December, according to a Tourism Ch’illiwack spokesperson.

“From family outings to date nights and magical staycations, Chilliwack is the perfect place to enjoy holiday cheer, make lasting memories and embrace the festive spirit,” marketing manager Carly Brkich said.

Here are some of the Holly Jolly Chilliwack experiences coming up:

District 1881 – Nov. 14 through Dec. 25

The lighting of a 40-foot Christmas tree on Nov. 14 kicks off a month and half Christmas displays within District 1881 which includes Meet & Greets with Santa starting November 15th.

Visits with Santa Tuesday through Thursday require a donation, preferably a $20 gift.

While sessions Friday and Sunday are $40, with proceeds donated to charity.

Christmas Craft Fair in Chilliwack Heritage Park – Nov. 15 through Nov.17

The 49th annual Chilliwack Christmas Craft Market will feature more than 240 exhibitors.

Operated by the Chilliwack Arts Council, the market features handmade goods, jewelry and fine foods from across BC. Entry to the market is $7 or free for children under 12 with all funds raised supporting local arts initiatives and scholarships.

Holiday Shopping in Downtown – Nov. 16 through Dec. 24

Several boutique stores just a walk away from District 1881 will extend shopping hours until 8 p.m. between Nov. 16 through Dec. 23.

Christmas at Greendale Acres – Nov. 22 through Dec. 23

Santa’s Workshop and crafts area feature at the agricultural venue along with an express train tour that visits light displays across the property. Kids can also write and send letters to Santa via the Greendale post office while others can check out the Christmas Market and Santa’s Workshop.

The Lights at Cultus Lake – Nov. 23 through Jan. 2

The Lights at Cultus Lake on the main beach features an illuminated lakeside perfect for a self-guided evening walk with friends and family.

Christmas at Cultus Lake – Nov. 23

The Nov. 23 event at the lake offers visits with Santa Claus between 4 and 7 p.m. in a cozy tented pathway. It also features a holiday market showcasing vendors, food trucks and fireworks display over the lake at 7:30 p.m.

Downtown Rotary Christmas Parade – Nov. 30

The event will begin at 5;30 p.m. on Nov. 30. It’s hosted by the City of Chilliwack, the Rotary Club of Chilliwack and 2024 presenting sponsor Mountainview Harley Davidson.

Chilliwack Christmas Gifts Expo – Dec. 6-8

The three-day expo features more than 300 booths showcasing home-based businesses, artisans and local vendors. Admission is $5 and free for kids under five with parking by donation.

Other Tourism Chilliwack recommended holiday attractions include Christmas tree farms, hotel packages and dining ventures.
