Cement truck rolls over at Lickman Road roundabout in Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK — A cement truck rolled over at the Lickman Road roundabout just south of Highway 99 Thursday morning.

According to a news tip from Chilliwack resident Julie Hiscock, a cement truck crashed sometime after 11:15 a.m. Chilliwack RCMP, Chilliwack Fire and B.C. Emergency Health Services attended.

The driver was out of the vehicle when Chilliwack Fire Department crews arrived. Engines 1 (Cheam Avenue) and 4 (South Sumas Road) attended, according to scanner traffic.

The truck belongs to Western Concrete with locations in Chilliwack and Abbotsford, according to images shared by Chilliwack resident Christina Bartha.

A witness at the scene who wished to remain anonymous said the driver of the cement truck appeared to have blood on his face as a result of the accident.

The driver of the cement truck has been left in care of B.C. Ambulance Service, according to scanner traffic.

The crash damaged city signs at the roundabout.

Chilliwack Fire Department is clear of the scene at 11:43 a.m. The scene has been left in care of Chilliwack RCMP.

According to scanner traffic via Kelsey Brown, crews have managed some liquid that spilled as a result of the rollover.
