Rotary club of Chilliwack kicks off week-long book sale at Heritage Park

CHILLIWACK – The Rotary Club of Chilliwack’s largest fundraiser of the year, its annual book sale, kicked off Sunday and will run until next weekend.

The event at the hanger in Heritage Park runs daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and features thousands of high-quality recycled books, as well as DVDs, records, comic books, and puzzles.

“We receive so much support from the community, and in turn, the dollars are invested back in the community,” the Rotary Club said on social media during the opening weekend.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit community scholarships, improvements to the Rotary trails, food hampers for school children, and other projects in Chilliwack.

Admission is free. Sales can be made with cash, debit, or credit card. Cheques and electronic transfers are not accepted. U.S. cash is accepted at par.

Volunteers aged 14 and older are still needed, particularly on weekdays, to assist with cash counters and hospitality.
