Chiefs split weekend road games on Vancouver Island

CHILLIWACK – The Chilliwack Chiefs are returning home with a win and a loss after two road games on Vancouver Island this past weekend.

Despite a three-goal third period, the Chiefs fell 4-3 to the 4-7-1 Nanaimo Clippers on Saturday.

On Friday night, the Chiefs secured an 8-6 shootout victory over the 7-6-0 Cowichan Valley Capitals.

The Chiefs now have 18 points and an 8-3-2 record after 13 games, putting them one point behind the Coastal East leaders, the Coquitlam Express.

Next up, the Chiefs face division rivals, the Langley Rivermen, at the Coliseum, with the puck drop at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
