CHILLIWACK – Phase one of the effort to update Chilliwack’s Official Community Plan (OCP) is underway, with a questionnaire seeking the public’s vision and priorities.

The importance of agriculture, climate change, recreation, and transportation are just some of the topics city staff are seeking input on.

“This plan, called Chilliwack 2050, will guide how the city grows and develops over the next 25 years,” the city stated in an online portal.

“Through planning, research, and community engagement, the updated plan will reflect a renewed vision for Chilliwack’s future.”

The current OCP prioritizes growth management, including policies on how the city will expand its urban boundary and who will pay for future developments.

The phase one survey can be found on the city’s website and will close on November 24, 2024.
