UPDATE WEDNESDAY, 11:20 A.M.: Mission RCMP say they are investigating the Mission Superstore fire as a possible case of arson. Police say Superstore was evacuated after a suspicious started inside the store. The fire appears to have started in the toilet paper aisle of the store. Police say smoke from the fire spread throughout the store and activated the sprinkler system. All customers and staff exited safely, though some sustained minor smoke inhalation. Initial evidence indicates the fire was intentionally set, but police say further investigation is needed to confirm this. Smoke and water damage is significant inside the store, which remains closed Wednesday morning.
