Hope firefighters contain semi truck fire overnight before it spreads

HOPE — Hope Fire Department says the work of seven firefighters on three apparatus worked to contain a semi truck on fire just east of Hope early Friday (Oct. 18).

According to a post from the department, Hope fire crews were called to Highway 3/5 just east shortly after 1 a.m. Friday morning. The department says seven firefighters attached to three units contained the fire to the vehicle of origin so that it didn’t spread to the nearby grass and wildland.

No injuries to either the driver or firefighters were reported. Hope Fire says the cause of the fire is unknown as of Friday morning.
