
Chilliwack Fire dispatched Thursday morning after helicopter hits building at Chilliwack Airport
CHILLIWACK — Multiple Chilliwack Fire Department engines were dispatched for an apparent helicopter crash at the Chilliwack Airport Thursday morning.
According to a recording of the emergency call provided by Chilliwack resident Julie Hiscock, Chilliwack Fire Dept. Engines 1, 4, 1-2, and 4-2, along with Rescue 1, were dispatched at roughly 10:18 a.m. for the report of an aircraft that went into a building.
The incident happened on the grounds of JoinAir at 8409 Lockheed Place, within the premises of the Chilliwack Airport.
A helicopter was positioned on its side with yellow caution tape around it, following the incident, with visible damage to its undercarriage. There appeared to be visible damage to the building’s exterior.
