Chiefs with win, loss after long weekend home games against Sherwood Park and Blackfalds

CHILLIWACK – The Chilliwack Chiefs recorded a win and a loss in their two weekend home games before Thanksgiving.

On Friday night, Robin Benoit of the Sherwood Park Crusaders scored the overtime winner in front of just over 2,000 fans at the Chilliwack Coliseum, leading the visitors to a 4-3 victory.

The Chiefs bounced back on Saturday night, with Mateo Mrsic scoring twice to help secure a 6-3 win over the Blackfalds Bulldogs.

Chilliwack is now third in the Coastal East Division with 10 points after eight games, trailing the division-leading Coquitlam Express by two points.

The Chiefs will hit the road on Tuesday to face the West Kelowna Warriors before returning home to take on the Spruce Grove Saints on Thursday.
