Bringing ‘spookiness and joy,’ the Kipp Ave. Halloween display is back in Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK — Creepy clowns are now a part of a spooky journey visitors face at Chilliwack’s favourite Halloween house.

The new circus-themed additions are featured in the free, family-friendly exhibit at Kipp Manor, a tradition that April Blais and her family have maintained for over a decade.

“The walk-through begins at the front walkway, continues through the yard, and exits at the side of the house on Stanley Street,” Blais explained in a social media post on Friday.

Since 2020, the intricate showcase has become a community staple, featuring skeletons, tombstones, and other traditional Halloween figures, with the goal of collecting donations for the local food bank.

“We gratefully accept cash and food donations (though not required) for the local food bank.”

The drop bin is located at the front doorstep,” said Blais.

In 2022, the first year they accepted donations, the display raised just over $250 in cash and filled an entire truck bed with donations for the Chilliwack Salvation Army.

The display is located at 45512 Kipp Avenue, near Stanley Street and open Monday to Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.

Weather permitting, the site will also feature strobes, music, and fog machines on the weekends.
