ABBOTSFORD – A youth outpatient program helping those experiencing psychiatric difficulties has a new ride that is expected to provide safe and reliable transportation for treatment sessions.

The Foundry Adolescent Day Program, serving patients aged 13 to 18, now has bus services after a vehicle was donated by Variety – the Children’s Charity of BC and the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF).

A spokesperson for Fraser Health said the new bus should remove barriers for some who have had issues accessing and engaging with the day program.

The Foundry on Simon Avenue offers individual, family, and group interventions through the adolescent initiative, as well as educational support and recreational activities aimed at improving mental health.
