CHILLIWACK — The cupboards at Ruth and Naomi’s in Chilliwack are looking pretty depleted these days.

The social services non-profit agency posted to social media Wednesday with an urgent appeal for donations of non-perishable food items, saying it’s experiencing record-high demand for emergency hampers.

“Ruth & Naomi’s Mission needs your help more than ever! With rising costs and record-high demand for emergency hampers, we’re working hard to provide food for families in need,” RAN said. “But we can’t do it alone.”

RAN is asking residents to consider donating items such as canned meats, canned soups, granola bars, oatmeal, crackers, Kraft Dinner and pasta sauce.
