Chilliwack patient airlifted after incident in Majuba Hill Wednesday morning

CHILLIWACK — A Chilliwack resident was airlifted by BC Ambulance Wednesday from the grounds of Yarrow Community School after an incident in Majuba Hill.

According to scanner traffic, multiple Chilliwack Fire Department engines and BC Emergency Health Services were dispatched at 11:25 a.m. to a residence in Majuba Hill, south of Yarrow, after an individual injured himself. Firefighters were advised to wait for police to arrive. Chilliwack RCMP arrived on scene at approximately 11:42 a.m., according to scanner traffic.

People on social media reported seeing multiple first responders speeding down Vedder Road towards Yarrow shortly after authorities were first dispatched at 11:25 a.m.

The male patient was transported from the Majuba Hill residence over to Yarrow Community School on Poplar where Chilliwack firefighters set up a landing zone on the grassy field west of the school campus. A BC Ambulance helicopter landed at approximately noon.
