One arrested after police incident Friday night: Chilliwack RCMP

CHILLIWACK — Police haven’t officially classified it as a stabbing, but people on social media reported over the weekend that a stabbing occurred in the Little Mountain area of Chilliwack Friday night.

According to a brief statement from Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Teresa Parsons, Mounties in Chilliwack attended an address on Epp Drive over the weekend. Corporal Parsons says one person suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, while another person was arrested. Police believe the incident was isolated and there is no ongoing risk to the public, Cpl. Parsons said.

Police did not release any other information about the incident. Fraser Valley Today has sent a follow-up email to confirm whether the incident can be classified as a stabbing.

People on social media suggested a stabbing occurred in which a victim suffered wounds to their arm and right leg. Another person said she heard multiple sirens late Friday night.
