Impaired Mercedes driver allegedly hops barricades, winds up in a ditch: RCMP
MISSION — Mounties in Mission say they’re investigating an incident in which a Mercedes allegedly veered off the road through some road barricades and wound up in a ditch in the middle of the night last week.
According to a statement from the Mission RCMP media relations unit, police were called to Lougheed Highway near Silverdale Avenue on Saturday, September 28 at 4:30 a.m. after a white Mercedes landed in a ditch. Police say the driver, a 33-year-old man from Surrey, demonstrated signs of being impaired by liquor. The driver failed two roadside screen device tests and received a 90-day driving ban and a 30-day vehicle impound.
The impaired driving file was one of 309 calls for service the Mission RCMP detachment handled between September 23 and September 29.
