CHILLIWACK — Three separate polling entities and a national poll aggregator have released data suggesting the B.C. Conservatives are leading the B.C. NDP by a slim margin with just 17 days before election day.

Leger, described as the most accurate pollster by 338Canada.com, released a poll Wednesday showing the B.C. Conservatives with a three-point lead of 46-43 over the NDP, while the Green Party registered support from 11 per cent. Leger surveyed 1,002 adults from Sept. 27-30. The B.C. Conservatives gained a single point while the other two parties were unchanged.

Pollara surveyed voters online on September 30 and found that 44 per cent of voters would back the Conservatives, 41 per cent for the NDP and 11 per cent for the Greens.

Mainstreet Research surveyed 1,259 adults through interactive voice response between Sept. 29 and October 1 and found that 43 per cent of adults would support the B.C. Conservatives, a one-point lead over the NDP (42 per cent). The Greens registered 11 per cent.

338Canada.com, a polling aggregator, suggests the B.C. Conservatives have a 2-point lead over the NDP, 46-44, and projects the Conservatives will win 47 seats compared to 45 seats for the NDP. The Greens are projected to win one seat. As of Wednesday, 338Canada.com suggests the Conservatives have a 53 per cent chance of winning a majority, illustrating how tight the race is with just over two weeks left until election day on Saturday, October 19.
