MISSION – RCMP say one of two suspects connected to an early September road rage incident in Mission was also the man shot dead in Langley last Saturday.

Investigators say the 38-year-old, hit by gunfire near 196 Street and 84 Avenue around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 21, was also the male suspect in a grey Honda Civic that engaged a couple at a drive-thru in Mission on September 8.

Two young adults were seriously injured during that altercation at the Tim Hortons near Lougheed Highway and the Cedar Valley Connector.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says Johnathan Hebrada-Walters, from the Edmonton area, was the suspect who died Saturday in the Langley shooting.

Another man was treated for injuries and sent to hospital following the incident.

IHIT says preliminary evidence suggests the shooting is connected to an ongoing gang conflict in British Columbia.

In a release Friday, Mission RCMP Cpl. Harrison Mohr said that despite Hebrada-Walters’ involvement, the Langley homicide and the Mission road rage incident are not connected.

A 35-year-old female, who was also involved in the alleged Sept. 8 attack at the drive-thru, is now wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Amber Jenelle Toews, also from Edmonton, is facing charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and mischief under $5,000.

RCMP say Toews is known to travel around BC and other western provinces.

Anyone with information on Toews can reach out to Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161, or contact local police.
