CHILLIWACK — A Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson has confirmed that a man’s body was discovered in a Sardis park Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 24), but there’s no indication at this time foul play is involved.

According to a statement from Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Teresa Parsons, police say a member of the public located the body of a man in the water of a park in Sardis on Tuesday at 4:10 p.m. RCMP members responded along with the Chilliwack Fire Department, who assisted in removing the body from the water.

Cpl. Parsons says the B.C. Coroners Service attended and examined the scene.

Police say the man has been identified but his name is not being released at this time.

There is no indication of any foul play at this time, but police say the circumstances around man’s death are still under investigation. Victim Services has been involved to assist those affected.

Police say there is no link between the discovery of the man’s body and the ongoing investigation at a Chilliwack mobile home park on Monte Vista Drive, where authorities have been stationed for over 24 hours.
