Chilliwack RCMP stationed outside Sardis mobile home, will remain there most of Tuesday

CHILLIWACK – Multiple Chilliwack RCMP vehicles are stationed outside a mobile home on Monte Vista Drive in Sardis Tuesday morning as police execute a search warrant.

At least four RCMP vehicles and what appears to be a forensic or investigative truck are currently on scene at 44565 Monte Vista Drive, Mountainview Mobile Home Park, a 29-unit mobile home complex.

Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener told Fraser Valley Today in an email Tuesday morning that police cannot discuss the nature of the search warrant.

“We are executing a search warrant at the residence,” Cpl. Kiener said. “I can’t speak to the file at this time due to the nature of it. We appreciate the public keeping their distance so we can do our job as efficiently as possible. We will likely be there for the remainder of the day. There is no risk to the public as a result of this file.”

A Fraser Valley Today reporter visited the scene Tuesday morning. While on scene, a Canada Post mail carrier drove up to the front of the home to deliver mail to a community mailbox and was greeted by multiple police.

A Chilliwack resident said there was a heavy police presence at the mobile home park overnight.
