VICTORIA — Writs have been issued for British Columbia’s 43RD Provincial General Election, with Final Voting Day set for Saturday, October 19.

Chief Electoral Officer Anton Boegman announced that voting is now open, urging all eligible voters to participate. “B.C. has the most accessible voting system in Canada,” said Boegman. “I encourage all eligible voters to cast their ballot and participate in British Columbia’s democracy.”

Voters can cast their ballots at any district electoral office, during advance voting, by mail, or on Final Voting Day. District electoral offices have been set up across the province, with office hours and locations available at elections.bc.ca/offices.

Advance voting will run from October 10 to 13 and October 15 to 16, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. but will be closed on October 14 for Thanksgiving. All advance voting locations are wheelchair accessible.

Vote-by-mail packages are available for all eligible voters. Voters can request a package online, by phone, or in person, and must return it by 8 pm on October 19.

Voting locations will be open on October 19 from 8 am to 8 pm. Voters can use the Elections BC app to find voting locations.

Voters must provide proof of identity and address to cast a ballot. A complete list of acceptable identification is available on the Elections BC website.
