Abbotsford business named one of North America’s top 5 RV dealerships

ABBOTSFORD — An Abbotsford business known for its established presence in the Fraser Valley and consistent commitment to charitable giving has received the highest honour in the RV industry.

Fraserway RV, founded in 1969 in Canada and based in Abbotsford, B.C., has garnered the 2024 Blue-Ribbon Dealer Award from RV Business Magazine, as one of only five dealerships on the continent and only two from Canada to be evaluated as the “best of the best.” It earned the distinguished commendation for its commitment to exceptional performance in categories like customer service, community involvement, innovation and overall business practices.

In a news release from the Laura Ballance Media Group in Langley, RV Business Magazine evaluated dealerships on a comprehensive set of metrics that mirror industry standards and best practices. For 2024 in particular, the judging panel suggested the quality of applications was among the best they’d ever seen, making the selection even more difficult.

This marks the second time Fraserway RV has received the top honour, while also being named a top 50 dealership award recipient for the 9th consecutive year.

“Being judged as the best of the best, is an absolute honour and a credit to our entire staff – and the collective commitment to customer care at every level,” said Rex Sheehy, Chief Executive Officer with Fraserway RV. “Our goal has always been to serve our customers and community in a manner that is thoughtful and serves their needs as much as possible.”

To be eligible, dealerships must first be nominated by RV manufacturers. Nominees are subsequently mandated to complete a comprehensive application, describing their in-depth approach to business practices including marketing; employee training; financial planning; charitable giving; and more. Once completed, applications are scrutinized by an industry panel.

Fraserway’s commitment to charity was reflected in a generous donation of $88,345 in March 2024 to the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation for a portable ultrasound at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and a general centrifuge at the Mission Memorial Hospital lab. The ultrasound equipment is valued at $68,345.

“This state-of-the-art equipment will help thousands of patients-in-care,” the Fraser Valley Health Care foundation wrote in a news release dated March 7, 2024. “For years, Fraserway RV has provided our local community with generous financial gifts.”

Some of these gifts include an ultraviolet germicidal irradiation machine and colonoscope for Mission Memorial Hospital; cardiac transport machine for Fraser Canyon Hospital; and radiographic fluoroscopy for Chilliwack General Hospital.

“Their dedication to community needs, particularly in our hospital spaces is transformational and we could not be more grateful,” the foundation said. “Thanks to their philanthropic contribution, our local hospitals can provide the best possible health care to our patients and illuminate a path towards a healthier and brighter future.”

Fraserway RV and other honourees will be officially recognized Wednesday, Nov. 13, at a reception and ceremony during the 2024 RV Dealers Convention/Expo at Paris Las Vegas.
