
Chilliwack company to hold winter operations hiring event/BBQ
CHILLIWACK — The provincial contractor tasked with providing highway and bridge maintenance services in the Fraser Valley since 1996 will hold a winter operations hiring event in Chilliwack early next month.
Emil Anderson, with operations and offices throughout British Columbia, will hold a winter maintenance career fair on Saturday, October 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Rosedale facility, 51160 Sache Street, in Chilliwack. Interested job applicants are invited to bring the family for a BBQ while discovering careers in winter maintenance.
Emil Anderson Maintenance says it is looking to hire winter road maintenance operators featuring seasonal full-time hours, overtime opportunities, on-site training, set shifts and unionized wages of $35.14 an hour. Interested candidates will have an opportunity to apply on the spot at the hiring event on Oct. 5.
Prospective applicants should have a minimum of a class 3 driver’s license with an air brake endorsement, be safety-conscious, have verifiable snow plow experience and be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
