Terry Fox Run, Agassiz Fall Fair are some of the events in and around the Fraser Valley this weekend

CHILLIWACK – A fall fair, triathlon and a charity flea market are just some events travellers to the Fraser Valley can checkout this weekend.

Here’s a list of some of the unique offerings:

Agassiz Fall Fair and Corn Festival
Friday and Saturday – 6800 Pioneer Avenue

An outdoor stage, midway, beer garden, and a kids’ zone with a zucchini car race are just some of the attractions at the Agassiz Agricultural and Horticultural grounds on Friday and Saturday.

Admission to the fairgrounds is free on Friday, while passes at the gate on Saturday are $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6 to 11.

Ride tickets cost $1.50 each, with all-day bracelets and ride booklets also available for purchase.

Fairy Tale Princess & Super Hero Days
Saturday – Greendale Acres

The flower fields at Greendale Acres is where fantasy and cartoon characters will meet on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Fairy Tale and Super Hero Day on the farm kicks off with real-life princesses wandering through the blooms between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., followed by an interactive obstacle course designed for superheroes.

Admission is $19 at the door, with discounts available for tickets bought online.

Chilliwack Chiefs
Saturday and Sunday – Chilliwack Coliseum

The Chilliwack Chiefs host back-to-back games on the weekend at the Coliseum, including the Coquitlam Express on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Surrey Eagles will be in the city on Sunday, with the puck dropping at 5 p.m.

Taqəš by Ballet Kelowna
Saturday – Chilliwack Cultural Centre

Ballet Kelowna presents Taqəš, a performance blending contemporary dance styles to tell the traditional story of “Raven Returns the Water.”

Standard ticket prices are $49, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m.

Taste of Abby Guided Circle Farm Tour
Saturday – Abbotsford Farm & Country Market

As part of the Taste of Abby Fall Food Fair Festival, organizers will offer a five-hour guided tour on Saturday, visiting farm partners.

The event starts at the Abbotsford Farm & Country Market before moving on to Campbell’s Gold Honey Farm, Tanglebank Estates, and finally, Singletree Winery.

Tickets are $50 per person, with the event starting at 10:30 a.m.

Terry Fox Run
Sunday – Mill Lake Park

The first in-person Terry Fox Run since 2019 takes place on Sunday at Mill Lake Park, with a 10 a.m. start time.

Events include four and eight-kilometer walk or runs.

Cultus Lake Triathlon
Sunday – Cultus Lake Park

The 15th annual Cultus Lake Triathlon takes place on Sunday, beginning with a swim in the lake around the main beach docks, followed by a ride into Chilliwack.

Athletes will also run a loop along the waterfront path.

The race starts at 8 a.m., with award presentations around noon under the gazebo.

Elements Chilliwack 1st Annual Flea Market
Sunday – 8180 Young Road

Elements Casino will host their first flea market in the venue’s parking lot on Sunday, with proceeds donated to their signature charity, “Bowls of Hope.”

The charity feeds over 1,200 children a day in the Chilliwack School District.

The sale runs between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Young Road, just north of Highway 1.
