SURREY — A man with no fixed address who was inexplicably released from custody in early August after being arrested for pointing a firearm and uttering threats, among other dangerous offences, is now being sought by authorities for breaching his “strict” conditions.

According to a news release from police, Mounties in Surrey say they are appealing to the public for help in locating a 59-year-old man who has outstanding arrest warrants.

Corporal Sarbjit K. Sangha, media relations officer for the Surrey RCMP, says Robert Flynn was arrested on July 21, 2024 for two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and one count apiece of assault, pointing a firearm and possession of a firearm.

For unknown reasons, Flynn was released from custody on August 6 with strict conditions, which required that he have no direct or indirect contact with the victim.

However, police allege Flynn breached these conditions between August 25 and August 31. On September 3, unendorsed warrants for two counts of breach of a release order were issued for Flynn.

Police say Flynn has no fixed address and officers have not been able to locate him or arrest him. He is described as a Caucasian man, 5’8″, 154 pounds, medium build, with short brown hair and blue eyes.
