Playground, chess tables featured in Chilliwack’s newest park

CHILLIWACK — A playground, chess tables and even a bike repair station are just some of the new amenities Valley Rail Trail users will be able to take advantage of in a new park added to the Sardis neighbourhood.

Webb Avenue Park, located along the trail just east of Vedder Road, is expected to serve a recent influx of residents in the area, including families now occupying a 67-unit affordable apartment complex.

“We know this area is becoming denser with the construction of more multi-family buildings,” Chilliwack mayor Ken Popove said in a statement.

Other features include outdoor fitness equipment, a drinking fountain, and several benches.
